Accessibility statement
Last updated:
We want everyone to be able to use Half Term Planner. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What you should be able to do
- zoom in up to 400% without text spilling off the screen
- use the whole site with just a keyboard, with a "skip to main content" link at the start of each page
- use a screen reader. Pages use proper headings, labelled form fields and data tables with headers.
- read all school dates without JavaScript. They are plain HTML tables.
- use the site without time limits, flashing content or automatic carousels.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
Known issues
- The holiday countdown, postcode lookup, family planner and "Add to calendar" button need JavaScript. Without it, the full dates are still on every council page, and you can find your council in the A to Z list.
- The council search box uses the browser's built-in suggestion list. Some screen readers announce the suggestions inconsistently. The A to Z list works for everyone.
- After a successful postcode lookup, the site takes you straight to your council's page. The result is announced first, but the move happens automatically.
- If we add adverts from third parties, we can't fully control how accessible they are. We'll label them clearly and keep them away from the dates.
Feedback and contact
If you find a problem, or need the dates in another format, email info@growonline.digital. We aim to reply within 5 working days.
Enforcement
If you're not happy with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) in England, Scotland and Wales, or the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland.
How we tested
We last checked the site on 19 October 2026. We ran automated checks (Lighthouse/axe) on the home page, a council page, a holiday page and the planner, and checked by hand with keyboard-only navigation. We'll review this statement at least once a year.
